The science behind Neurological Reengineering helps the brain to relocate, activate, and control muscle fibers.
Hands-on techniques reestablish and create pathways to increase neural stimulus and motor control. Neurological
Reengineering is offered exclusively at BARWIS Performance Centers where, to date, over 90 individuals
in the program have regained movement and function.
We are a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals with spinal cord injuries,
neurological disorders, and any life-altering injury or disorder by providing scholarships for specialty
recovery program called the Neurological Reengineering to enable people to continue on their path to
recovery, regardless of any financial constraints.

Most of us take simple movements and mobility for granted as we go about our days. The individuals in our
program are tireless fighters , often in the face of incredible odds and rapidly depleting resources/insurance
coverage. We are called to help, to continue to give hope and the Power to Move.
The First Step Foundation helps provide to the cutting-edge, game-changing Neurological Reengineering
Program. Our board aims to grow the program, extend its reach, and impact as many lives as we can.
Since its inception in 2014, the First Step Foundation has provided over $225,000 in training scholarships
and over $40,000 in specialized equipment for the Neurological Reengineering Program.
