Our Methods Training is the cornerstone of the BARWIS offerings. Whether it is gymnastics, football, ice hockey, swimming, or even esports, BARWIS Methods Training is useful for every type of movement-based action, preparing the individual for the rigors of their use. The adaptive training cycles accommodate for in- and off-season training needs and are personalized to the individual’s own development, accounting for their stage of life and career. We ensure that all receive the same quality  of training practiced by elite professionals of the world.

Throughout the years, Mike Barwis and his team have successfully coached athletes from nearly every sport you can think of. All programs are designed with an in-depth understanding of the body and its neural and muscular systems. Designing workouts for individual athletes based on their needs in combination with the demands of the sport in which they participate has led to unparalleled results from thousands of athletes in over 40 sporting events.

Our Methods

Through the use of our training methods, our athletes develop speed, agility, strength, power, force, acceleration, mobility, explosiveness, reaction, conditioning, balance, core stability, confidence, mental toughness, good nutrition habits, kinesthetic awareness, and proprioception. This is not a “cookie-cutter” or “one-size-fits-all” training program. All of our dimensions of training are adapted and phased regularly for the individual athlete’s needs and the demands of the specific sport.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

BARWIS ARS SCREEN

Designed by Mike Barwis, the BARWIS ARS Screen is a comprehensive, full-body neuromuscular assessment provided by a certified BARWIS Methods Trainer.  During this screen, there is an evaluation of each joint and muscle group to establish levels of neurological activation and firing patterns, ascertain neuromuscular firing sequences for primary movers and synergist assisters and determine joint and muscle ranges of motion and areas and causes of resistance throughout those ranges.  The BARWIS ARS Screen becomes the foundation for the design of an 8-week personalized training program with appropriate daily workout protocols and exercises designed to counteract imbalances, correct improper biomechanics and re-assimilate proper neurological firing patterns.
