Our training cycles transcend all aspects of physiological development. Athletes are trained in areas of: speed, agility, quickness, explosive training, Olympic weightlifting, conventional weightlifting, band training, injury prevention mvoements, plyometrics, core, balance, functional training, bioenergetics, related to the indivudual sport, nutrition, flexibility, medicine ball training, proprioception, swiss ball training and various other practices. 

Through the use of these tactics we develop speed, agility, strength, power, force, acceleration, deceleration, mobility explosiveness, reacion, conditioning, balance, core stability, confidence, mental toughness, good nutrition habits, kinesthetic awareness, and proprioception All these dimensions of training are adapted and phased regularly for the individual athlete’s needs and the demands of the his or her sport.  

Group Fitness Classes (all locations) 

Adult: Stay Strong 

With a world class athletic facility, BARWIS Training has created a modern day athletic development class that includes the use of an expansive professional grade turf and a spacious elite level performance weight room. Stay Strong is a highly effective full body boot camp style class designed to bring out your inner athlete! It includes speed, agility, mobility, weight training, flexibility, core training, and more. It is a scientifically designed total body conditioning program, and even more than that, it is a class that comes with the intensity of an athletic environment and the vibe of a strong family! Your strength, energy and endurance will all reach potentials you may not have known existed. 

College: Performance Training 

College Athletes! Looking to get elite level training in a world class facility that pro athletes choose all the time? Our BARWIS College Sports Performance Training classes have been designed to help the college athletes build strength, power, speed, mobility, stability, and a great understanding of biomechanics to help prevent injury. All of our training protocols are adapted and phased regularly for the individual athlete’s needs and the demands of the specific sport. The prescribed level of training sets provides an opportunity to take your athleticism and sport specific skill set to the next level. The offseason goes by fast. High School: Performance Training

Whether you are trying to make the team, get more playing time, or set personal goals to improve your strength and conditioning, the BARWIS high school performance training class is here to guide you towards success. BARWIS training provides high school athletes with the proper techniques for lifting, offers specific instruction on speed mechanics and agility training, and teaches mobility and corrective exercises to improve range of motion, which reduces the risk of injury and promotes better performance. Additionally, trainers will increase your understanding about the physiological needs for rest and recovery. This is the class that develops your athleticism and prepares a foundation for you to take your game and your athleticism to the next level.

Youth: Performance Training 

BARWIS designs developmentally appropriate training sessions that have an impact on an athlete’s performance results, injury prevention and long term success. Whether a home-schooled student looking to add physical exercise after a day of learning or in-school students seeking a program to prepare for next-level athletics, our Youth Performance classes are designed to optimize speed, agility, strength, power, force, acceleration, mobility, explosiveness, reaction, conditioning, balance, core stability, confidence, mental toughness, kinesthetic awareness, and proprioception. We educate, train and challenge our young clients so that they have a strong athletic foundation upon which they can build sport specific skills.

Gym Membership

Our Gym membership provides clients with a unique atmosphere for all types of health and fitness goals. Whether you are looking to stay in shape, become a weekend warrior, or train for an upcoming season, we have the tools to get you there. With our state of the art facilities, turf fields, free weights, and cardio machines: BARWIS has you covered.

With the size of our facility, waiting on a bench or a free weight is rarely an issue. You will have the ability of getting your workouts in without the distractions or crowds in the way. The only thing getting in between you and your goals is signing up for a gym membership through BARWIS. All ages 13+ are encouraged to sign up today! 

BARWIS BUILT 

If you need some guidance in the gym, the BARWIS Built personalized training programs have been designed specifically for the needs of the individual who wants some guidance on how to structure a workout that addresses your goals.. Whether health and fitness aspirations or sports performance needs, a customized program allows for the specificity in prescription.. *Programming is derived scientifically from the individuals current physiological attributes, lifestyle, strengths, weaknesses, environment, and goals.

3 workouts/week x 8 weeks

BARWIS ARS Screen® (Plymouth, Port St Lucie, Deerfield Beach)

 

Designed by Mike Barwis, the BARWIS ARS Screen is a comprehensive, full-body neuromuscular assessment. During this screen, there is an evaluation of each joint and muscle group in order to: establish levels of neurological activation and firing patterns, ascertain neuromuscular firing sequences for primary movers and synergist assisters, and determine joint and muscle ranges of motion and the causes of resistance throughout those ranges. The BARWIS ARS Screen becomes the foundation for a personalized training program with  appropriate daily workout protocols and exercises designed to counteract imbalances, correct improper biomechanics, re-assimilate neurological firing patterns, and overcome current and inhibit future injuries. This screen is actively used in five professional sports leagues to evaluate players and in our neurological re-engineering program.

We use these tactics and individual assessment results to develop a personalized program. Through corrective exercises and training protocols that will improve what the athlete needs to focus on when it comes to: speed, agility, strength, power, force, acceleration, deceleration, mobility, explosiveness, reaction, conditioning, balance, core stability, and confidence. All these dimensions of training are adapted and phased regularly for the individual athlete and the demands of his or her sport. Our personal training includes the highest level of training for ultimate performance results.

Small Group Training

If you are looking for a personal training experience, but want to be accompanied by a small group of your choice, we have the program for you. At Barwis, we allow our customers to schedule training for groups up to 4 people. Small group training classes allow our clients to stay accountable for each other and accomplish their individual goals while working out together. BARWIS corrective exercises and training protocols will help the athlete improve what he/she needs to focus on when it comes to: speed, agility, strength, power, force, acceleration, deceleration, mobility, explosiveness, reaction, conditioning, balance, core stability, and confidence. These small group training sessions are good for athletes looking to compete at the highest level and even for our clients looking to be pushed by a high level coach to meet their goals. 

Sport Specific TEAM Training

TEAM TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

Professional, Olympic, collegiate, high school, and youth  athletes and teams train with Mike Barwis and his staff because they know that they receive the best available science-based holistic, cutting-edge performance training that will prepare them physically and mentally for the rigors of their particular sport. 

Team training is an opportunity to develop what your team needs to succeed and maximize potential: speed, agility, strength, power, force, acceleration, mobility, top speed, explosiveness, reaction, conditioning, balance, core stability, confidence, mental toughness, camaraderie, good nutrition habits, kinesthetic awareness and proprioception. This is not a “cookie-cutter” or “one size fits all” performance training program. All of our dimensions of training are adapted and phased regularly for the team’s needs, time of year (in season/off season) and the demands of the specific sport. All BARWIS team training also includes injury prevention, which is an integral component in ensuring a team’s optimal performance throughout an entire season. 

BARWIS is the only private company that is currently employed to run professional sports teams’ sports science and medical departments, working with 7 pro teams in 4 different leagues.  We are now accepting team applications and registrations for athletes at all levels in order to provide an innovative, trustworthy, and safe performance training foundation for athletes in our local community and beyond.

SPORT

Our baseball/softball programs are built to focus on the mechanics and movement patterns necessary to excel at any level of play. BARWIS baseball training focuses on improving rotational power, mobility exercises for injury prevention, speed and agility techniques and strength where needed most for the demands of the sport. Our pro athletes down to our very own BARWIS Baseball youth teams learn that building the athlete is part of becoming a better player year after year.

Football programs are built around BARWIS training methods that increase strength, power, speed mechanics, reaction, footwork and injury prevention due to the intense physical demand on the body during the football season. Our training can be applied to all levels as play as well as to the many different football programs: tackle, flag, 7vs7 and more.

Programs Designed for: Individuals, teams and leagues

Our Basketball programs are designed around the BARWIS training methods to help our athletes with their vertical, speed mechanics, reaction, and injury prevention to improve our athlete’s fast twitch movements on the court. The more explosive we can make our basketball players, the tougher they will be to guard. Our training is perfect for all levels of play. Whether you are preparing for a youth season, or getting ready to grind an 82 game NBA season out, our training methods will put you in position to dominate your competition.

Our Hockey Programs are designed with the BARWIS training methods to focus on Coordination development, strength training, endurance, and ensuring our athletes can move through their full ranges of motion. We understand that hockey season can be a grind, so we prepare our athletes to be as strong and coordinated as possible. From individual clients to full NHL rosters, our program is designed to put our athletes in a position to succeed every time they step on the ice.

Our Barwis Tennis program has created Pro Performance, Pro Performance Teams, ITF Teams, and Junior Development Teams Training platforms for players across the world. We have developed a situation that allows players to have access to some of the most advanced training methods based on years of research, technology, and expertise. This is a new era of tennis training platforms that prior to now only the pros could afford. Our mission is to “Build the Athlete, Create the Player”, we will do this by offering individual biomechanically engineered training for each player on a personal level. Through grit, science, and love, we help those in pursuit of greatness optimize their performance and achieve mechnical mastery to attain uncommon results. We want everyone to be part of TEAM BARWIS, a family that is persistent on becoming the standard of player development across the world.

Our MMA program is designed using the BARWIS training methods to benefit each individual’s fighting style. Some of our fighters will need training that is focused on quickness and flexibility where another fighter may need to focus on strength. All fighters in our MMA program will be exposed to workouts that test these different aspects, but we focus on specific areas that will make each individual better at what they do. From weight management to strength training, BARWIS training methods will get you to your goals in the most efficient way possible.

Our Soccer programs are designed with the BARWIS training methods to develop our athlete’s speed, agility, endurance, power, and coordination. These 5 components are essential in the development of our soccer athletes. The ability to out pace your opponents starts in our Barwis facility. Not only do you need to outrun your opponents when fresh, you need to be able to outrun them when you are tired and the game is on the line. We have a program specifically tailored to soccer athletes that is successful in athletes of all ages. From youth on up to professional athletes, we will have you a leg up on the competition.

Our Gymnastics programs are designed with the BARWIS training methods focussed on developing power, coordination, balance, and flexibility. As a gymnast, it is important to have total control of your body and the ability to move through its full range of motion. Gymnastics is unique because the sport features some of the world’s most powerful athletes, but with accuracy and precision. At Barwis, our gymnastics program is fit for youth up to olympic level athletes.

Our Volleyball programs are designed with the BARWIS training methods to increase our athlete’s vertical, strength, power, and flexibility. Focusing on these components will allow our athletes to have success when spiking, blocking, and digging balls on the court. Our volleyball strength training and conditioning programs are personally developed to give teams and their athletes an advantage against all opponents. We offer team, group, and individual volleyball training to all ages from youth on up to the professional level.

Our Lacrosse programs are designed using the BARWIS training methods to develop our athlete’s muscular strength, endurance, speed and agility. To become a successful lacrosse athlete, you need to be well rounded in many physical components. You need muscular endurance as well as cardiovascular endurance to compete at the highest level on the field for the entirety of a game. Becoming a more complete player starts in our weightroom. Our training programs are uniquely designed for all ages from youth up to professional athletes.

Our Swimming programs are developed using the BARWIS training methods to assess and develop our swimmer’s endurance, strength, flexibility, and mobility. When training in our program, you will train the ability to compete when your body is fresh as well as fatigued in the pool. Work done outside of the pool is a major factor in how well your muscular strength and endurance will hold up in a swim meet. Our programs are designed to give a competitive edge to teams and athletes of all ages.

If your sport is not listed, our training staff still has the ability to develop a sport specific workout program for you. Using the BARWIS training methods, we will assess the needs of our athletes before writing up their unique program. We serve clients from a variety of sports: including golf, surfing, and track and field. All ages from youth on up to professional levels are encouraged and we will train according to your needs.
