We emphasize direct 1 on 1 care with our Doctors of Physical Therapy, never resorting to use of assistants. Our aim is to bring world class rehabilitation to every client who walks through the door, regardless of sport of hobby of interest.

DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION TO START PHYSICAL THERAPY ?
In the state of Florida you are not required to have a prescription from a physician in order to be evaluated or treated by a Physical Therapist! This allows our Physical Therapists to evaluate and be a front line provider to you to get you back to 100% as quickly as possible!

WHAT TO EXPECT ?
When arriving for your first session, please wear athletic clothes (t-shirt, shorts or loose pants). We have locker rooms available for you to use. Your first session will involve a thorough evaluation of your injury by our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), where your treatment plan will be developed. You will also be given exercises to be completed at home. Please ensure that your contact information is correct in order for us to properly communicate your home program and recommendations during your rehabilitative journey.
Nick Lucius PT DPT CSCS
Nick has been practicing physical therapy since 2015 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Grand Valley State University. Nick began his tenure at BARWIS as a Strength and Conditioning intern in 2011 and continued throughout his Doctoral studies. Nick co-founded BARWIS Physical Therapy in 2016 and serves as the Director of the BARWIS Injury Recovery Programs, with a passion to develop a professional grade rehabilitation experience for people of all walks of life. Nick enjoys providing treatments that blend in his background as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist with manual therapy and novel recovery modalities to provide a comprehensive and objective treatment experience. Nick has extensive experience treating athletes at the top of their sport, providing rehabilitation services to athletes in the MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, UFC, Bellator, NCAA, Professional Rugby, Ultramarathon, Marathon, and all NCAA collegiate athletes.
Joe Fiorelli PT DPT
Joe Fiorelli is the Clinic Director of Physical Therapy for BARWIS, responsible for sport and orthopedic care at the South Florida location. Joe has a passion for providing world class professional rehabilitation services, with a holistic and individualized approach, to those experiencing orthopedic or sports-related injuries. Among others, his patients include athletes in the NFL, MLB, NHL, NCAA, UFC, Bellator, Professional Rugby, Endurance athletes and NCAA collegiate athletes.
Joe began his professional career at BARWIS as a DPT clinical student in 2019.
He holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Neumann University and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University earning Cum Laude honors.
